Brasilien: Strände, koloniale Schätze und Naturschauspiele

Salvador de Bahia, Brasilien

Brazil: a multicultural and hospitable country

Covering nearly half of the South American continent, Brazil offers itself to the world as a multicultural and hospitable country with a warm, joyful and festive atmosphere. Although the recently constructed city of Brasilia is the capital, with its rich architectural and rural culture, the city of Rio de Janeiro is undoubtedly the most significantly important and well known town located in an extended area of incomparable natural beauty.

One of the best days of your holidays is walking or jogging along the beautiful Copacabana and Ipanema beaches, enjoying a fresh fruit juice in one of the numerous “suquerias”, listening to a concert of “bossa nova” in a piano bar and drinking a “caipirinha”, and at the end of the day, dancing to the rhythm of the Samba.  Everyone should have the opportunity of experiencing this at least once in their lifetimes.

Famous for its world renowned carnival in Rio de Janeiro and Salvador de Bahia, Brazil is also the birthplace of famous musicians such as: Vinicius de Moraes, Toquinho, Milton Nascimento, Maria Bethania, Caetano Veloso, Gilberto Gil, and many others.

No other south Americian country has succeeded so successfully to integrate so many different races of people:  whites, blacks, Asians, American Indians, and the indigenous population which have together formed today’s “Brazilian” people with their warm, sincere, and creative characteristics.  This population of mixed cultures adore their country, support their national football team and passionately share their lives with their co-nationals, without giving importance to the colour of the skin.

A trip to Brazil is an unforgettable experience of humanity and culture

A helicopter tour over the Iguazu waterfalls, sailing along the Amazon and meeting the Amazon river people, and enjoying a jeep ride through the Patanal swamps to experience the immense biodiversity of the fauna.

An exciting walking adventure exploring the Chapada Diamantina National Park, composed of numerous mountains, chapadoes, rivers, rushing torrents, waterfalls, caves and pools of transparent water.

Dune ride the Sertao desert in a 4×4 or Dune Buggy, or stop for a break at the home of one of the local fishermen or travel by horse or buffalo in Marajò and visit one of the local farms.

Fly above the beautifully coloured lakes of crystal water in the Lencois Maranhenses National Park, or emerge yourself in the Afro-Brazilian historical culture of Salvador de Bahia.  Follow the futuristic dreams of Oscar Niemeyer in Brasilia.

Take a sailing boat adventure searching for dream beaches along the Costa Verde or Ilha Grande and discover the world famous underwater sea life of Fernando di Noronha.

Savour the exotic luxuries offered in the numerous charming hotels situated in enchanted places, visit historic farms which cultivate coffee near Rio de Janeiro, and all this is only a small part of all the activities offered by this marvelous country of so many contrasts.
